Some days, it looks good. Links to educational stories and such. Today, however, I see this story. Above the fold is an assertion that Darren Wilson murdered Michael Brown. Below the fold, no one disputes the inaccurate statement. Wilson has yet to be indicted, much less found guilty of murder!

Step 1: Don't order the flags of the country you're presiding over to fly at half-mast for a dead guy who co-founded a Marxist terrorist organization, achieved jack-shit for your own nation and was responsible for the loss of well over 100 innocent lives.

Super fucking annoyed about this right now.

Spare me the platitudes about his saintly life at the end. It doesn't wash the blood away, people.

Dear "M.S.":

It's been several YEARS since you began trying to befriend me on various social-networking sites, and as I have yet to accept any of them (and will continue to do so), please take a fucking hint and go die in a fucking fire.

I am kinda getting into season 2, in spite of the fact that it's painfully clear that it's for chicks. Really. It's a power fantasy tale for chicks. If I were watching it live, it would be constantly interrupted by Tampax, Pampers and constipation meds commercials. Will season 3 get better, or should I stop while I'm ahead? No spoilers, you gits.

Sitting in the break room with a co-worker today, when we got to discussing politics. Guy claimed that Dick Cheney might have been involved in some torture business over the past couple of years.
You coulda knocked me over with a feather duster right then! Not sure if the fella's got his head on right with this accusation.

What do you folks think might have happened?

438 U.S. 726; 98 S. Ct. 3026; 57 L. Ed. 2d 1073; 1978 U.S. LEXIS 135; 43 Rad. Reg. 2d (P & F) 493; 3 Media L. Rep. 2553

Because of the pervasive nature of broadcasting, it has less First Amendment protection than other forms of communication. The F.C.C. was justified in concluding that Carlin's "Filthy Words" broadcast, though not obscene, was indecent, and subject to restriction.

The Court accepted as compelling the government's interests in 1) shielding children from patently offensive material, and 2) ensuring that unwanted speech does not enter one's home. The Court stated that the FCC had the authority to prohibit such broadcasts during hours when children were likely to be among the audience, and gave the FCC broad leeway to determine what constituted indecency in different contexts.

Thanks, Mr. Carlin, for inviting the vampire through the threshold.
You don't have to worry about the FCC now that you're dead. Lucky you.

Lovely service tonight, and all songs sung are done a Capella, for doctrinal reasons.
My favorite tonight, composed by the woman noted above, was How Beautiful Heaven Must Be.

Quite a lovely tune and gave me pause to reflect.

Peace offering received convivially, which made me cry and smile, simultaneously.
Moderately pleasant telephone convo with the woman, no yelling or interrupting (and important thoughts were shared), which raised my spirits enough to enable eating again.

Important Feedback: I sound "less crazy" today.

Watched AvPR with my son, it was O.K. Thanks, Ms. Yutani.

Next paycheck: Nicotine patches. It's time to quit, because 1. It's good for me and 2. Certain people can't stand my dirty habit (COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE). 3. Money saved can go to better causes, perhaps a liberal political concern or an environmental charity.

Currently playing: Interpol

Print Story What I learned from 2007:
Love
By ammoniacal (Tue Jan 01, 2008 at 12:58:23 AM EST) (all tags)
1. People are more important than Plastic. Always.

2. When a woman tells you she loves you and wants you refrain from negative behavior, she really means it.

3. The first half of 2007, I was pretty happy, at my partner's expense. A horrible, dreadful and severely regrettable error on my part.

4. When two people stop taking psychoactive medication, it can exacerbate underlying problems. Address these problems together and come up with a plan, if you want to survive them.

5. If I want to ever regain the glory years I shared with a certain person, I must make some important changes in the way I live.

6. I must learn to love and trust with all of my heart, withholding nothing from my partner, for in return, she shall provide what I lack, and we shall both be the better for it.

7. Never forget your desires, for they are mostly your destiny, providing you are already living your life as detailed in 1-6 above.

8. Forgive your partner's foibles and do not judge them, for you are no better. Remove the stick from your own eye.

9. Make many small things of joy together, and  share the joy and passion of creation with your partner, for it brings comfort and inspiration to them.

10. Tell your partner, every day, that you love them, that they are the most important thing in the world to you. Then demonstrate what you just said. Do this without fail, or you may lose that love.

You know, this sort of thing makes me sick.

We, as Americans, should fully support strict gun laws which remove these indiscriminate killers from the hands of our youth.
